Do not touch or press the ballpoint tip to keep your fingers clean!

The video below will show you how to properly switch your pen between writing mode and closed position

2.Adjusting the sliding strength

If you find the sliding strength too loose or too tight you can adjust it by following these simple steps:

  • fully slide out the cartridge

  • Option 1 (sliding is too loose): press the tightening loop with your thumb inwards the pen. Do not use too much force but try to feel when the loop is affected. (e)

  • Option 2 (sliding is too tight): take the cartridge and put the front side under the tightening loop. Press it gently outwards from the pen. IMPORTANT: use very little force to not damage the loop. This process requires much less force compared to Option 1. (f)

  • Try the sliding again. Repeat Option 1 or Option 2 if necessary until the best result is achieved.

A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES :

  1.  A new cartridge will wear in and sliding should become more smooth the more you use the pen.

  2. If for some reason the sliding isn't smooth even after the adjustments you should resand the cartridge with the sanding cloth included and then repeat the adjustment process. The sanding video can be found below on this instruction page!

  3.  When you buy a new refill you will always need to sand it before placing it in the pen. (the sanding cloth isincluded and below is the sanding instruction video).

3.Changing the refills

Because of the specific design, ManualPen will only work with the PR style Fisher Space refills listed below:

PR1, PR1B, PR1F, PR4F, PR4, PR4B, PR2F, PR2, PR3F, PR3, PR5, PR6, PR8, PRSL

Fisher Space refills are available on their official site www.spacepen.com and also widely available in biggest online shops (like Amazon, etc.) and local stores as well.

A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES :

  1. Refills that come together with ManualPen are already sanded so they are ready to use and you don't have to sand them.

  2. When you buy a new refill you will always need to sand it before placing it in the pen. (the sanding cloth is       included with each pen).

  3. If for some reason the sliding starts to be not so smooth during the usage of the pen you might need to resand it and clean the bore of the pen

The video below will show you how to properly sand the cartridge

NOTE: The cartridge will wear in and the sliding will become even smoother the more you use the pen.

4. Cleaning the pen

If you ever find some dirt inside the main bore or the sliding appears to be not so smooth anymore you should clean the pen. Cleaning ManualPen is very easy. The stainless steel version could be simply washed under water with any cleaning detergent (dry it after cleaning). The copper and brass versions should only be cleaned dry using thin object that fits inside the main bore (thin brush or simple ear sticks will work fine).
